This was the first Bal-Sagoth album I ever heard and years later it's my favorite. It has the riffs, the atmosphere, the epicness. Very few albums are this engaging from start to finish 💙
Favorite track: Starfire Burning upon the Ice-veiled Throne of Ultima Thule.

Epic is one, empowering word to describe this album. A cheesy, storytelling wonder filled with very inspired vocals and refined instrumentals that follow the vocals perfectly. It is pretty easy to screw up black metal for me, but Bal-Sagoth did not. One of my go-to black metal albums

Bal-Sagoth's second album is the second of a series of releases that Cacophonous has had remastered by Danny [Pentagram Chile] at HVR Studios. The band decided to keep the original iconic artwork by Joe Petagno, but the booklet has been revamped with a new layout.

never been a big death metal fan but this is actually super accessible for the genre, has fun concepts, and personally i'm always a fan of albums with short tracklists and huge runtimes (for individual songs) Great time, good jumping on point for newbies too. alienasu

Masterful use of acoustic passages and synth stuff. This is definitely my favorite black metal-dungeon synth kinda album I've found recently. Each track flows into the next so well, I cannot recommend it enough. Perri

What an impressive piece of black metal. This one-man hurricane is pure art. Sgah‘gahsowáh creates an haunting atmosphere. He puts so much soul in his music. Sælzer Bub
