Cosmographer Yes, this is cheeseball stuff but if you, like me, spent the early 00s jamming epoch-making records like Covenant’s Nexus Polaris, Children of Bodom’s Hatebreeder, Dimmu Borgir’s Spiritual Black Dimensions BUT ALSO Stratovarius, Rhapsody and Blind Guardian, Bal-Sagoth remains absolutely undeniable and irresistible.

Battle Magic is an amazing record. Favorite track: Return to the Praesidium of Ys.
